Shape Changers Detox Body Wrap
Ever wished you could just squeeze that extra fat out through your skin? Though it would be gross coming out, it would sure as heck be easier than burning it off on the treadmill.
While this is not exactly what Shape Changers Detox Body Wrap promises to do, it does claim to miraculously shave off a few inches of your waistline or your thighs in the matter of an hour! It also claims to “draw out toxins out of the body, leaving you visibly slimmer, firmer and smoother.”
We know what you’re thinking – B.S.! Well, amazingly enough there are many people who have experienced a temporarily loss of a few inches around the waste by using similar body wraps. While there is no evidence that they work like they say they do (removing toxins, etc), Shape Changers Detox Body Wrap may give you a temporary relief from those tight jeans. But is it worth buying instead of some good weight loss pills?
What’s in Shape Changers Detox Body Wrap?
The kit includes:
- 8 sachets (that’s packets in British English) of detox clay, though they don’t list the formula. Usually it contains bentonite clay and some salts. Each packet is good for one treatment.
- 2 bandage wraps – these resemble your basic ace bandage wraps, are about 8 inches wide and can be reused, but they might get a little crusty from the clay mixture.
- Instruction booklet and DVD
They claim the clay packet contains a “specially formulated sea clay that acts as a giant poultice to gently draw out impurities. As the toxins are removed, soft tissue is compressed and compacted, and the skin regains its natural elasticity.”
While the soft tissue may be compressed, its not because “toxins” are being removed, its because interstitial fluid (water with some proteins) is being drawn out by osmosis to the high mineral concentration of the clay. They claim Shape Changers Detox Body Wrap isn’t a water loss product, but that’s exactly what it is. You’re not squeezing out fat, you’re sucking out a little bit of fluid from the skin. This doesn’t dehydrate you as it doesn’t reduce your blood volume, but it does temporarily make your skin a little thinner. This effect fades in a day or so.
Is Shape Changers Detox Body Wrap Safe?
If you are allergic to any sort of minerals or if you have very sensitive skin, you may want to exercise caution before wrapping up with this mineral formula, but otherwise you shouldn’t need to worry about any significant side effects while using Shape Changers Detox Body Wrap.
How Much is Shape Changers Detox Body Wrap?
Here’s the big turnoff with Shape Changers Detox Body Wrap: It’s a British product, and while we have nothing against the Brits, as of yet they’re not selling Shape Changers Detox Body Wrap in the US so you have to buy it online, pay in pounds (quite a painful exchange rate), and have it shipped over the ocean. This will cost you a minimum of $64 (40 pounds) for the kit and up to $15 or more for international shipping. Considering they mention nothing about a satisfaction guarantee, this is a pretty big risk for something that may or may not work…temporarily!
Are There Any Cons to Shape Changers Detox Body Wrap?
The main “con” to Shape Changers Detox Body Wrap is that it is just a very temporary skin treatment that isn’t necessarily good for you. Otherwise consider:
- No satisfaction guarantee
- No clinical studies to support effectiveness
- Very expensive ($80 or more if you live in the US)
Is Shape Changers Detox Body Wrap Worth Purchasing?
There are a number of videos out there, including one for Shape Changers Detox Body Wrap, demonstrating how body wraps work and though they supposedly measure a few inches lost, you can’t ever tell by just looking at the people. Usually they’re models who are already fit anyway. Unless you are made of money or you already live in the UK, we would assume that this is more money than you want to risk on a product that at best might shave off an inch temporarily from your belly, waist or thighs. We say you’d be better off spending money on a long-term solution with a scientifically proven weight loss pill.
