Zerona
Zerona is the latest craze in the weight loss world. You have probably seen the goofy looking apparatus on a day-time talk show. It looks like something out of a movie. It is the safer, less-invasive, easier alternative to liposuction. Zerona is a cold laser treatment (meaning it does not burn the skin or cause any kind of scarring) that causes fat cells to release their contents into extracellular space.
These contents are cycled through the lymphatic and circulatory systems and removed from your “problem areas.” This process is not fully understood yet and as more information is revealed Zerona should become more and more effective. Robert Jackson, MD and others found that:
“In this double-blind, controlled, randomized trial, we observed that low-level laser of the appropriate wavelength applied three times per week for 2 weeks can significantly reduce the circumference at specifically targeted tissue sites due to reduction in the adipose layer. To fully appreciate these results, further scientific exploration is required to gain a better understanding of the role the lymphatic and circulatory systems may play in the absorption of the released triglycerides, fatty acids, and other adipocyte stored material evacuated following the laser induced formation of the transitory pore. Further, a study must be conducted to assess the longterm maintenance of the circumferential loss.”
So in summary, as more is understood about how Zerona works it may reach a point where it can be tailor made to work for specific individuals or body types. But, for now we can just accept the fact that Zerona works to treat areas of excess fat in the body.
What’s in Zerona?
Zerona is a type of laser. It’s particular wavelength and frequency of light has proven to trigger the death of fat cells and the subsequent release of their materials.
How Much is Zerona?
2 week’s worth of Zerona treatments can cost anywhere from $2,000-4,000. It is considered a cosmetic operation so it won’t be covered by insurance.
Are There Any Cons To Zerona?
Yes. First of all, Zerona is expensive. It is not a realistic option for most people struggling with their weight. Second, Zerona is not particularly useful for obese persons. It is designed to shape up specific areas rather than burn 50+ pounds of fat. Third, there are no long-term studies proving that Zerona’s initial success will really last. You will likely see immediate results, but we can’t be certain the inches will stay off.
Is Zerona Worth Purchasing?
I would wait a little bit before trying Zerona. I am sure long-term studies are in the works and more trials will be conducted to solidify the success Zerona has already demonstrated. If you can’t wait another year or so and you have plenty of cash then Zerona is worth a shot. It is a much better option than liposuction. But, if you don’t have that kind of cash you should check out some of our top rated weight loss pills. They are obviously much cheaper and they will help you burn fat and lose weight.
